The Tragedy Of Loss
We did NOT win the Fort Worth Weekly music award for best cover band. It's sad. But several of us went to the awards ceremony and got drunk, so that's some consolation. And we are gigging up a storm this summer. And Sparky is going to fill in for Appetite for Deception in Sturgis!
Vote For Us, Dammit!
We have been nomitated for a Fort Worth Weekly 2006 Music Award! YEAH!!! We have no idea how the nomination process works, but we're in there. Go vote for us online at their site, or get yourself a paper copy and do it the old fashioned way! EITHER WAY, VOTE FOR US!!!
Goodbyes, New Recruits Redux
We bid founding drummer Joe a fond and sad adieu. And we welcome Sparky Sorenson, lately of Hollow, to the fold. With our newly solidified lineup, we are hitting the metroplex hard. Be sure to catch us at one of our upcoming shows!
Goodbyes, New Recruits
David, our Slash/Crash/Flash, has left for greener pastures (if Kansas City is greener). We wish him the best in his new endeavors, which include, ironically enough, playing in a different GnR cover band. Dan has been SPECTACULAR in covering both guitar parts, but we all wanted to be a five piece again. We are welcoming Eamonn Gallagher to the fold as Stash, sharing guitar duties with mister Dan Walker. Everyone else is the same. Eamonn will be playing with us after only two rehearsals, this Saturday, December 17, at the Texas Teahouse in Deep Ellum.
Hitting The Road
We have started venturing out past Arlington and Ft. Worth. You know, to places like Richardson. The Deep Ellum, Denton, and Lakewood gigs are coming up, and they LOVE us in Abilene! Look for us near you soon!
More Gigs
Some highlights from shows we have played - the Fort Worth Fire Department guys requesting Mister Brownstone, FROM IN A FIRETRUCK. Assl jumping off a pylon at Motorcycle Cowboys and being rescued by an audience member. Girls on the swing at Diamond Jim's. Rocking bells at Match.com in Richardson - who knew the CFO was such a big fan?
Lineup
There was a brief shift in our lineup, then a shift back. We would like to thank Bobby Prince for taking on drum duties for a short while. That man can KICK. We have, however, welcomed Joe Livingston back to the fold, and are roaring ahead with shows and new material.
First Gigs
We played our first gigs to a SELLOUT CROWD at Motorcycle Cowboy in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. Seriously though, at the second show people circulated a napkin writing down requests. And Puff broke his finger. And a picnic table. AND THAT'S ROCK AND ROLL!!! All our friends who saw us out of loyalty or pity were impressed to see that we can indeed play. You should come see us too!
We Are Techno Savvy
The website is up. If you are reading this, that is a short leap to make. We got photos, we got music, we got show dates. Its a digital cornucopia all up in here.
Hittin' New Orleans Nights
Thanks to Matt, Evan and everyone at New Orleans Nights (especially you, Abigail) for making our trip, and my birthday, kick ass. We will be back. Oh yes, we will.
Rock and Roll Karaoke
Yupps in Fort Worth hosts some serious karaoke action. The Child O' Mine crew was put to shame by some regulars, and a good time was had by all. Go!
The Band Exists
Child O' Mine is officially a real band. We have guitars and a P.A. system and everything. We promise to rock you like a proverbial hurricane. You'll think it was 1989, we swear. Tool around here to hear us and see us.
